It is much easier. On the right side there is a search box with the Amazon icon. Put your name in there, click the icon and add your book from the search results to your owned list.

I don't recommend this approach because the Account page is going away, to be replaced with a newer version. Just use the Amazon search on the right side or click "more search options" and use the Barnes and Noble search.
You can then see your bookshelf using the Bookshelf link on the left.
Your books will get added to ibookdb in a few days. You can verify that they are added to ibookdb by putting your name in the "Author Search" on the More Search Options page.
