| Thanks for the welcome, y'all.
Abe, when I first got on-line back in 1997, I was tring to come up with a Yahoo handle. I was brewing a batch of homerbrew (one of my hobbies) at the time, so I used "Brewmeister999". That eventually shortened to "Brew" on an old message board I belonged to. It kinda stuck...
The hair thing was my rebellion from working in healthcare for thirty years and had to conforn to their rules. When I retired, I let it grow! _________________ Brew My website:http://www.philwhitley.com "Let us dare to read, think, speak and write." ~ John Adams, 1765 |

| Brew, I guessed right. And concerning your rebellious nature, the older we get the less need there is to conform. _________________ "To Beirut and Back" http://www.freewebs.com/abemarch |

Maybe some room-temp Chianti will do the trick!

| Thanks, all of you for the warm welcome!
Flashgordon said, "Welcome to the forum Brew, you also showed us your drum which is cool."
Uhhh, not sure what you mean. Do we know each other? I felt a connection when I read your post. Have you read Keechie? The drum thing is my catch-phrase from the book...
"As long as there is someone who can hear the drums, the people will never die."
I sign the books with "Hear the drums!"
I think I may have been an Indian in a past life... LOL
BTW, my avatar photo was taken on Easter Sunday this year. It is the very rock that I wrote about in Keechie. It juts out from the crest of Pine Mountain, overlooking Pine Mountain Valley, where I grew up. The rock is a magical place. I think it must lie on a ley line, since the ancient inhabitants had a ceremonial ground there.

| Are there any ancient drawings there, Brew? I have quite a bit of family in Northern Georgia. Mostly distant cousins, but I love the area and am seriously thinking of relocating in the near future. _________________ Zada Connaway Mother's Journals: parts 1, 2 and 3 ISBN # 1-4241-6969-0

| I have never seen any petroglyphs in my area, Zada. But I have receltly learned that there was a large rockwalled circle nearby where ceremonies were held. When the CCC workers came in in the early 1930's and built many stone structures - houses, bridges, a swimming pool, etc. - where do you figure they gor most of the stones? Yep. They dismantled all those wonderful stone circles from an age past before having to quarry their own.
There are some petroglyphs near the ancient mounds in Georgia (Rock Eagle in Eatonton and the Etowah Mounds). |
