Hot news from the iUniverse number crunchers...

"One of the most common questions we hear from authors is, "How can I break into the retail market?" Usually, they are specifically referring to bookstore independents and chains. There are several ways this can be achieved and each requires setting attainable, realistic goals.

"If, after careful examination of your market potential, you feel your book is best suited to sit among the literary classics at major retailers, such as Barnes & Noble, be aggressive in your pursuit. Visit with the store's manager and ask him or her to host a book-signing event and keep several signed copies of your book in permanent stock. It is likely that the manager or corporate headquarters associate you speak with initially will ask if your book is returnable. As an iUniverse author participating in our new Booksellers Return Program, you'll now have the flexibility to smile and say, 'Yes, my book is returnable.'

"Non-returnable books have long been a roadblock for self-published authors, but not anymore. iUniverse has increased your potential for success in the bookstore with the Booksellers Return Program. When you sign up for the program, your book will be classified as returnable in the Ingram Distribution database, so bookstores are more comfortable taking a chance stocking books by an author who hasn't been on the New York Times Bestseller List ... yet.

"If you would like more information on the Booksellers Return Program, reply to this e-mail or speak with one of our Book Sales Consultants at 1-800-AUTHORS. When getting your book in the bookstore is in your marketing plan, iUniverse can help.

"Best regards,
iUniverse, Inc.

"P.S. When you sign up for the Booksellers Return Program during May, we'll offer you an introductory price of $599.00. That's a $100.00 savings. Call today to enroll!"

"Live" spelled backwards is spending more money as an insurance policy against returns than 99.9% of POD books even earn.
