Most of us have websites.
Probably most of us also have a links page on our sites.

I have several writer friends linked on my page.

I'd be happy to add anyone here to my links page if you are willing to link me on your links page.

This way we can help each other get more internet exposure.

Just send me a private message or email if you want to share links.

If all of you get your books listed on ibookdb (just add them to your owned books on ibookdb) and send a link to your website to listbooks@ibookdb.net, we'll post a link to your website (within a week or so) from your author page. We'll post it quicker (1 business day) if you also post a link to us from your site.

AuthorsDen seems to be a good site for connecting with fellow authors.
There is a "Track this Author" feature where you get email
announcements when a tracked author adds a short story or posts an
announcement.

Main thing is, the web-bots pick up on your page.

Mine is: http://www.authorsden.com/philwhitley
Check out some of my short shorts!

List yours so we can connect there.

I agree, www.authorsden.com is one of the best authors' sites on the internet. My page is www.authorsden.com/pgordonkennedy

Okay, so I started this and didn't do a very good job at following up ...

Well, my web building provider decided to help by added a really cool linking tool. It makes linking sooo easy and the links front page gets posted too!

I'm switching all my links from my old links page to the new Links & Sites page:

http://www.dreamersforest.com/apps/links/

So, anyone who wants to link up with me ... please send me your info again.

Sorry about the delay.

I'm on authors den, too, Gordon, but I have very mixed feelings about it and other sites where authors are all trying to sell their books to each other. I question this because it always appears that while everyone there wants to sell, few are actually coming to the site to buy anything.

What's been your experience with generating sales via your pesence there?

Malcolm

I've been in Author's Den, Author's Nation, Book & Reader and half a dozen other forums. What annoys me is some of those places, once you've added a profile, are nearly impossible to get out of. There is no place to just delete yourself if you don't want to be there anymore.

And like you said, Malcolm, it seems most of those places become places for writers trying to sell their books to other writers.

This forum and one other one that I belong to, seem to be the only two forums I've found where the writers get along and are encouraging and supportive of each other. Which is what I am looking for ... writer friends just being friends with other writer friends.

The only places I've been happy with for listing my books is the Red Room and Young Adult (and kids!) Books Central.

Forest,
your feelings are shared. I too dislike it when I am targeted for the sole purpose of sales. I deleted a lot of so-called friends whose objective was selling their products including real estate.
To avoid this, I don't accept anyone as a friend until I review their profile. If there is no picture of the person and scanty information, I don't accept. I want to read their "purpose" of being on the forum and something about their background.

I like our forum. It's not perfect but neither are any of us. Not everyone who makes an appearance will fit, but that's life.

I agree, Abe.

This is a good place. And, perfect??? Hm...seems to me--perfect people are terribly annoying. Wink
