Somewhere in the many posts here on the forum is a thread about using branding and how to check to make sure you are not using a tag line (I think that is what it is called) that someone else has used.

Tagline example: We're number #1. by Hertz

I have the link to clichesite.com, but I thought there was another one. Can someone either point me to the thread or give me some sites to check out?

The line I want to use is "Awaken Your Power to Change".

Sue, I've never heard of copyrighting a tagline, but a tag, I would think, could also be considered a slogan as well as a short phrase. Slogans and short phrases are not subject to copyright:

You are correct on that, Brenda. What I am wanting is a phrase that I can use for my business, Reboot Your Life™. I didn't think I was using the right wording when I said tagline, but that was all I could think of at the time. I am not looking to copyright. Perhaps trademark it though, such as hertz and avis have done.

Thank you for addressing this, Brenda.

How about this:

or this:

Not sure they're any good, so I'd think consulting an attorney would be the best bet, altho I've heard it can be an expensive process. That's why it might pay to get one of those 'do it yourself' books. They worked years ago for divorces.
