This is not the first chapter, but it is a chapter. And no, it is not a recipe book either. It is a Motivational/Self-Help/Spiritual book on how to deal with life. I am looking forward to comments, suggestions, whatever you have to say. I can take it. I have broad shoulders. *grin*

The link to the chapter is: http://www.weavingdreamspublishing.com/samplechapters/lifeislikechapter.html

I hope you enjoy it!

Blessings from my spirit to your spirit!

Let me guess...you need some nuts in with the sugar and spice?

Thanks for sharing that Sue! I like the way you tie in a real story to your lesson--that's kind of similar to how I do it too.

I'll let Lin be nutty, as long as I'm sugar and spice.

hahaha Lin, Perhaps!?

My CB handle was Allspice (sugar and spice and everything nice *grin*) But I can be nutty sometimes too.

I only had one negative response to my book so far. It was from my step-dad. He didn't get it. He even thought the title was stupid. He didn't get that either. It was my first "rejection" of the book. Surprisingly though it didn't upset me. I just realized that he wasn't into what I was into and thus he didn't get it. In fact, his live-in girlfriend told me they didn't understand it. I have had others who have said, what is there to understand? *grin*

So you going to add the nuts? Hmmmm....

Sue, why were you up at 2 a.m.? I do like chocolate chip cookies and after reading your chapter I may know how they relate to life. I can't say for sure, though. Anyway, I liked it.

Life is always better with a little bit of everything thrown in...sugar, spice, nuts...whip cream doesn't hurt either, unless of course you're lactose intolerant!

Well, we've managed to skirt around food on these MB's quite a bit lately, but it cannot be denied any longer...sometimes a writer's just got to eat!

Dick, I am listening to Coast to Coast am at night while working on the computer. *grin*

I guess I used the wrong chapter. The one that explains the title is a longer chapter and thought it was too long for a sample chapter. Perhaps, after your comment, I should use that chapter along with the other chapter. Do you have any comments on that? Thank you for the cudos, Dick.

hahaha Pam! At all my book signings they supply chocolate chip cookies. I am sooooo sick of them!!! LOL... my next book will have nothing to do with food hahaha Don't think I could take any more cookies of any type. *grin*

Tired of choco chip cookies? There is always the cat's head biscuits; it's all comfort food, anyway. I liked the friend's story, too. It personalizes it. And keeping it simple makes it an easy read.

Thanks, Zada! People tell me it is like having me there talking to them. Too many of our self-help books nowadays aren't simple enough. I was trying to write for the ordinary people I deal with all the time.

Thanks again!

Sue, I think you did a fine job. Many self help style books come sounding 'preachy'. What I read sounds conversational and friendly.

Thank you, Donald, for the kind words.

Zada, that is what others tell me also. They say it is like I am right there talking to them. I know some of the punctuation isn't "traditional". However, it is the way I talk. I can talk literate as well as illiterate depending on what I have to say and who I am talking to. I was told it was simple and easily digested. *grin* Thank you for your kind words as well.

I find that when I read my own book I have aha moments. It is like someone else has written the book and I am reading it for the first time everytime I read it. LOL... There are people who are on their 5th reading of it and get something new each time. That excites me!
