Thanks Zada. I love the Pacifici Northwest too! Although I'd travelled to Seattle before, I didn't actually get to Friday Harbor until September 2007! Three Weeks Last Spring was released in August 2005 - I did most of my research on the Internet. It was good to visit and found out that my descriptions had been accurate!

George, I'm not sure if you are aware that you can optimise your e-book on Lulu - for the small sum of £14.00 you can have it formatted for The Sony Reader.

I have both of my books available in paperback and E-book format.

E-books are a lot cheaper for readers, and I advertise that fact. I get the same royalties from Lulu, even though the customer pays less.

However, not a lot of readers enjoy reading online. Sitting, staring at a computer screen. I'm one of those.

I would say, that even though I promote the e-book, I do have more paperback sales.

Hi Brian,

ALthough I have my electronic rights, my publisher still owns the original artwork so I used a cover from Lulu's gallery. As it happens it's more appropriate for the subject matter and setting of the book!

Had to design a new cover and this is what I came up with. Not too bad for a total numpty with graphics programmes I suppose. It'll have to do!

I don't know the first thing about Photoshop. That image above took me forever but it's the best I can do.

Wow George, for someone that doesn't do photoshop that looks pretty cool. Shelagh is that what you have used for your covers and bookmarks?

Once you have your ebook, there are a lot of ways to reach your target audience on the web.

For instance, two of my ebooks are on a site that specializes in ebooks about alternative energy and resource conservation - http://www.ecobrain.com.

Google topics like "ebook promotion", "ebook sales" and "ebook stores" and you will find a lot of resources to help sell your ebook beyond the traditional sites like Amazon. For "how to ebooks", clickbank is an excellent way to go. Here is my link to clickbank:

http://tmcco4316.reseller.hop.clickbank.net

Good luck with your ebook.

Sincerely,

That site looks interesting, especially in light of the most current developments in the publishing arena. I have linked to it and will investigate further when I have more time for an indepth look. Thank you for providing the link, and the other suggestions as well.
