| Requierments to be president: -You must be a natural-born US citizen -You must be at least 35 years old -You must have lived in the United States for at least 14 years prior to the election Those are the requierments as set forth by the US Constitution. The requierments are pritty open-ended, I think something like half the US population meeets those requierments. |

Adding those requierments would probably be a good idea. It should be requiered that a presidential candidate be healthy enough to have a high probability of living out their term. It would also be an extremely good idea to requier that all presidential candidates be mentally stable and without any mental problems that would prohibit them from being a successful president. As for education, at absolute minimum, a presidential candidate should have a high school diploma, in my opinion. Preferibly, a presidential candidate should have a college degree. Yes indeed, we need to expect more from presidental candidates than the minimum requierments. |
