| It continues to rise here too Gordon...mostly I am trying to organize my life to take fewer trips out. And I count my blessings that the things that I absolutely need are close by.
Cheer up my friend, it could be worse. Or it can be okay, or freakin' mahvellous. It's all in how we look at it. I wouldn't want to be JoElle filling that truck of hers, but then again, I did buy a wheel barrow last weekend, so I can move big stuff around with that if I need to. _________________ Pam Robertson http://andthebandplayedonmylawn.blogspot.com |

If we'd have to resort using wheel barrows, you'd be better off than me. Mine's about twenty years older than me! |

| Yes, we are now past the $4.00 per gallon here as well. I daw a comparison of the newer 'gas efficient' vehicles, and the ones they said were good got no more mileage than my old van!! When will they learn? The really gas efficient ones are like little tin cans! I wonder if there is enough room in one of them to haul groceries home? Of course, as far out as I live, a trip to the store is a once or twice a month ordeal, and I REALLY stock up! Almost need a pick up truck! (and there goes the gas miileage.) _________________ Zada Connaway Mother's Journals: parts 1, 2 and 3 ISBN # 1-4241-6969-0

| It's my darn fat fingers and the slightly smaller keyboard. (plus, my proof reader took a holiday!) At least, it shows you read my reply and were awake when you did it! _________________ Zada Connaway Mother's Journals: parts 1, 2 and 3 ISBN # 1-4241-6969-0

| Zada, next time, use a teaching instructor's trick. I would purposely mispell a word just to see if the class read what I wrote. That came in handy when I actually did mispell a word. Then I could say, "just checking to see if you're alert." _________________ "To Beirut and Back" http://www.freewebs.com/abemarch |

| Here's where being a writer comes in handy. Instead of jumping in the car and driving for no apparent reason, I sit my butt at home and write. Saves gas. Feeds the muses.
I am happy that I have a small vehicle with good gas mileage, though. Plus, it's paid off. Another plus. It looks better and better to me every day. _________________ Southern fiction with a madhatter twist... www.rhettdevane.com |

| Rhett I can relate. Whenever I get tired of my car, I give it a good wash and polish, and try to remove all the dog hair from the back. Then it looks like new and I can fall in love with it all over again.
Abe I like that trick and have used it too. It's always good to see if people are alert. The world could use more lerts. _________________ Pam Robertson http://andthebandplayedonmylawn.blogspot.com |

| With the high cost of gas and the need to reduce pollution, it seems to me that more people should be working from home rather than traveling to an office everyday.
We know that is the wave of the future, but the future is now. Why wait? A progressive company could equip employees with video conferencing and enable them to communicate without the need to physically sit in an office on a daily basis. A visit to the office once or even twice a week would certainly reduce traffic, pollution, gas and save time. _________________ "To Beirut and Back" http://www.freewebs.com/abemarch |

| Since I no longer go to a job everyday, I am probably saving hundreds of dollars a month! ( job was 27 miles each way) My van gets about 22-24 mpg, and will hold a lot when I do get to town, once or twice a month.
I hit a deer a couple of years ago; the deer lived, but there was extensive damage to my van. Thank goodness, I was only doing about 30 mph due to the fog, or it could have been worse. Things like that make me not want a little bitty car! I think more and more, people are working from home out here, Abe. I know it is fairly common in some of the bigger cities. Not only would it save money, gas and pollution, it would also relieve stress and get rid of 'road rage'. It is definitely becoming commonplace. _________________ Zada Connaway Mother's Journals: parts 1, 2 and 3 ISBN # 1-4241-6969-0

It's tad difficult for an over the road mother trucker to work at home even though the truck is his/her home on the road and if we did stay at home no one would get any deliveries of anything and then where would you all be? _________________ Welcome Earthlings http://fly.to/rainbow689 |

| Me, I work from home for the technical writing that I do and I love it. Our meetings are often in coffee shops at a central spot rather than anyone having to drive an hour and a half to the office, which is in a small rural town, so we chat over the phone and email. The added bonus that I never expected? When it's really chilly outside I can rest my feet on the dog, and he is completely unfazed over it. :pirat: _________________ Pam Robertson http://andthebandplayedonmylawn.blogspot.com |

| Rainbow, wouldn't it be nice though, if everyone else stayed off the road, clearing the way for smooth sailing on your part? _________________ Zada Connaway Mother's Journals: parts 1, 2 and 3 ISBN # 1-4241-6969-0
