The company I'm working for has no medical
benefits. About 7 weeks ago I got 7/8 'insect' or something bites, 3 on my
back, a couple on each arm and on my legs. The first week the calf on my right
leg was very painful. The pain went away, but I could not and cannot put any pressure on
the ball of my right foot, it just collapses if I try.

Subsequently, my left arm has lost a lot of its strength and I cannot grip with my left
hand. Also my left leg is somewhat weak. Also, my left arm and occasionally
just above my knees and right arm I get some sort of spasms, I 'm not sure if
it's muscle spasms, or veins or what.

I have just been to the ER in Florida with my ex trucker trainer with
whom I
have remained friends and I'm staying with him for a couple of days.
The ER,
for $100 up front as it wasn't an emergency, did some blood work and a
cat scan,
they said both came up negative and sent me on my way! Mind you I
suppose the $100 for blood work and a cat scan was pretty cheap,
although it did nothing to discover the cause of this malady!

So I'm wondering if there’s doctor in the house, or if anyone can offer any suggestions
as
to how I can get this treated, or at least find out what the f'muck is
causing this, with no medical insurance? Apart from that there is
no pain anywhere just the weaknesses and spasms.

It's become the proverbial pain in the posterior, though it seems my posterior is fine!

I think it would be irresponsible for any of us to offer you medical advice - without a license. And, if there is a doctor in the house, without the capability to examine, I doubt that he/she would offer any advice. They would subject themselves to being sued.
For what you described, I may suggest - just suggest, that you consult the internet and get some feedback on "possible" remedies. If the problem persists, the best bet is to seek competent medical help.

I am continuously amazed that the greatest nation on earth doesn't have health care for everyone. The CNN news today showed a video of a lady (without insurance) sitting in the waiting room of a NY hopsital waiting for attention and a hospital bed. She sat for a number of hours, then she fell off her chair and lay face down on the floor. Several people saw her lying there, even hospital staff, but nothing was done. Finally someone came to check on her, kicked her with their foot, and getting no reaction, they checked her pulse and discovered that she was dead.

I can't help you, although I was supposed to pretend to be Dr. Stodghill one night. I was hanging around the orderly room at my National Guard outfit in the Akron Armory when the first sergeant said two men wanted to join up but there was no doctor on hand. He said, "I'll bring them in and you give them a little exam. Say you're Dr. Stodghill." He went out to get them and I went out the window.

Dear Rainbow,
I wonder if you may have Shingles. It is very painful and no-one can tell you you have it until the little blisters show up. They look a little like chicken-pox but are only in a spot or two. I had that and it took three weeks for the 6 little blisters to show up. Meanwhile, I was on heavy duty codene which did not help much. Once the blisters start to show, the pain eases off.

Hi Rick,

Don't allow yourself to become dehydrated. Take a glass of water to bed and, if you wake, drink the water. Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. This has to become a lifetime thing, not something you do until you feel better.

Depends a lot on where you were (part of the world) when you were bitten. Down here, we have both ticks and spiders that, while the bites aren't deadly, do come with neruolgical symptoms.

Any clue as to what you "got into" as we say here?

Rainbow, were the bites painful like a wasp sting, or more like an ant or mosquito?

What part of the country were you in?

Have you ever had an allergic reaction?
