Any clue as to what you "got into" as we say here? |
It was when I was home in my RV in Laredo, which is 20 miles north of downtown on 18 acres of scrubland, although somewhat slightly landscaped! Unfortunately I have no idea what feasted on me. We do get deer on site and all sorts of critters and there's a notice saying, 'Beware of Snakes', but I've never seen one! _________________ Welcome Earthlings http://fly.to/rainbow689 |

What part of the country were you in?
Have you ever had an allergic reaction?
Bedbugs? |
Hi Phil the one on my calf on my right leg was very painful for a week, then the pain went away, the others were itchy at first much like a mossie bite, but all the other problems came after the first week or so. As I mentioned to MadHatter I was home at Laredo at the RV. Never had an allergic reaction to anything barring the tax man before! Don't think it was bedbugs either _________________ Welcome Earthlings http://fly.to/rainbow689 |

Don't allow yourself to become dehydrated. Take a glass of water to bed and, if you wake, drink the water. Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. This has to become a lifetime thing, not something you do until you feel better. |
I drink plenty of liquids: tea and Sobe Fruit Drinks and sorry, but the theory of drinking 8 glasses of water a day has been debunked, there was a program on it on NPR (National Public Radio - sort of a wannabee BBC!) but thanks |
This page backs up what you are saying for people who are not suffering your symptoms. The recommendation was to help you overcome the fatigue. If you were fit and healthy it would be different. Try increasing your fluid intake slightly for a number of weeks. If if makes no difference, no harm done and you can reduce the intake to previous levels: http://calorielab.com/news/2006/05/28/8-glasses-of-water-a-diet-urban-legend/ |
Many thanks Madam President and as I mentioned in the truck my cooler is filled with Sobe Fruit Drinks and I usually guzzle up to 2 bottles a day, bearing in mind a good hot cup of rosy lea has a lot of good stuff in it and is a good diuretic, bearing mind how often I pull over to take a leak! ooops sorry too much information No.6 ! I am NOT a number! I am a free man!!!!
Now apart from Madam President anyone know where that comes from? _________________ Welcome Earthlings http://fly.to/rainbow689 |

| Sounds like a spider bit to me. A tick bite would cause other problems as well, labored breathing and the like.
We have to be careful where we are and when we were in Arizona because different spider bites cause different reactions.
Have someone check your body and see if you can find the bite spot. I know it has been some weeks ago, however, the spot, though difficult to see, may still be there. They last quite a while. If you can find the spot, you can then go from there.
When I get bit, it has the same symptoms as you have described only not in my foot. It usually happens closer to the bite site: in your case the calf. (Did I use the colon there ok?)
Some spiders bite and some sting, and their venom varies.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

Thanks Sue, there is a small mark near the right calf of my leg, though I don't understand why my left arm hand and left leg are weak, plus the slight spasms, but thanks anyway _________________ Welcome Earthlings http://fly.to/rainbow689 |

| Shelagh suggested: "Take a glass of water to bed and, if you wake, drink the water." Do you not expect him to wake up, Madam? _________________ Zada Connaway Mother's Journals: parts 1, 2 and 3 ISBN # 1-4241-6969-0

| Rainbow,
I know the feeling and I am old enough for medicare with a supplemental back-up plan. I have had leg pains, weakness and malaise for a couple of months and finally got a diagnosis.
I live in woods and thought I had lyme disease, but that test was negative twice. Then I checked the internet and decided I had polymyalgia rheumatica.
I went to my family doctor and got more blood tests. He told me to get vitamin D at the grocery store, that we all have a deficiency in vitamin D and it can cause all sorts of damage. I also had an elevated inflammation rate.
One night the leg pains got so bad I went to the ER. A kindly man gave me a pain shot, pain pills, blood tests, and a test for blood clots. No blood clots.
Then I got poison ivy. I do often. If I walk past a small clump it jumps up on my skin and gives me big welts in just hours. I went back to a physician's assistant I had gone to for the possible lyme disease. She gave me steroids and said, "you know this might just help the leg pains." They did miraculously. Then my doctor finally concluded I had polymyalgia rheumatica. I will go for physical therapy and take steroids for a year. Muscle spasms come for no reason at no particular time, but I am glad to be stamped with a diagnosis.
I think God gave me poison ivy. I would have never been able to do all I have had to with my mother dying with the leg pains.
Hang in their Rainbow. Check the internet. Even good insurance can't always give you the answers. Sometimes you just have to be determined and find the right person. My right person was a physician's assistant about 27 years old. Perhaps there is a free clinic or nurse practitioner in your area who could help find the answers for cheaper.

Many thanks Carol, when I get back to Laredo there is the Laredo Medical Centre and I've been told they have to take you insurance, or not. I'll mention the possibility of Polymyalgia Rheumatica to them, my buddy's brother thought it might have been a stroke!
Which reminds me of the two old men sitting in deckchairs when a gorgeous streaker ran passed. One of them had a stroke....The other one couldn't reach!
I always use Vitamin D whole milk for my tea andI checked on the net for Lyme Disease and my symtoms don't really match, but what you mentioned is a possibilty, I trust the steroids didn't make you look like Miss Body Builder Universe and gave you rage and mood swings _________________ Welcome Earthlings http://fly.to/rainbow689 |

| I was wrong. I had no idea there were so many practitioners out there. I don't think a stone has been left unturned.
If drinking all that water doesn't help, try booze. _________________ "To Beirut and Back" http://www.freewebs.com/abemarch |

| You are all decked out for the 4th! Keep the faith, buddy. Something is bound to turn up, and that clinic back home might be just the ticket. Shelagh, I just couldn't resist yanking your chain a little! By UK standards, I am a 'yank' after all! _________________ Zada Connaway Mother's Journals: parts 1, 2 and 3 ISBN # 1-4241-6969-0
