How about the message in a grocer's:

Mothers kindly stop sitting your babies on the bacon slicer, we're getting a little behind in our orders!

Pam,

In the OLD DAYS, one didn't have a computer to automatically fit the headline into a column. One had to count up the letters by hand. The acronym "flitj" stands for the narrow letters that were counted 1/2 each up toward a max space. That space was determined by the font and size being used.

How about this:

Have trouble writing about love?

Take a hint from the following metaphors and analogies found in high school essays compiled by a MN magazine:

“He was deeply in love. When she spoke, he thought he heard bells, as if she were a garbage truck backing up.”

“She grew on him like she was a colony of E. coli and he was room-temperature Canadian beef.”

“Her face was a perfect oval, like a circle that had its two sides gently compressed by a Thigh Master.”

Her hair glistened in the rain like nose hair after a sneeze.”

“The ballerina rose gracefully en pointe and extended one slender leg behind her, like a dog at a fire hydrant.”

I was living in MN at the time this article was released, so I
particularly enjoyed reading it. I knew the 'up north' guys were a
little different, but really . . .

Brenda he has returned to his other projects, including a great forum for game designers that write/program for a game called Tomb Raider. If you want to get in touch with him, just send me an email and I'll connect you, or you can Google him and see him a whole bunch of the top spots.

want to contact him, but I liked reading his posts. Please tell him
hello.

I printed Brenda's list of things those high school kids wrote so Jackie could read them. Then I got thinking about them and kids today who are like me when I was their age. It would be interesting to know how many were deliberately gross. I would have been the guy writing about nose hairs and then laughing to myself when I handed it in. Or maybe I would have been the dog at the fire hydrant.
