I'm starting this thread as a place where we can talk about the interesting stories behind our avatars how we created them and why we chose them. Mine dates from about a year ago. It was actually taken as an "experimental" picture, it was not originally intended to amount to anything, but when I saw it I really liked it. The picture has since gone on to be my author picture and my avatar on several web sites. Depending on how I view things it is either my favorite or second favorite picture. I think every picture has a story behind it and those stories can be quite interesting.

What a neat idea!

My avatar story is pretty simple:

I love fantasy and my favorite race is the elfish.
The forest is home to me.

So my avatar is a 'forest elf'.

The real JoElle looks like this:

This photo was taken at Kinnitty Castle in Irealnd. Yes, I was leaning against a fence and that is a horse behind me.

PostSubject: One Of My Close Buddies And Confidants   Sun May 18, 2008 9:16 am

Time for a change, this is my close buddy and confidant Elfish Presley
I believe we all have different facets to our personalities including the various masks we wear: one for work, one for friends etc, I simply put clothes on mine. When I'm there, they're not! When they're there, I'm not! Why is it acceptable for an 'actor' to immerse him or hers-elf into a character and not a not so ordinary member of the public? Mind you, whoever I am portraying at any given time, I am always the Puppetmaster

Wella blessa ma soul a-wassa wrong with me
We're here on The Forum for all to see
Avatars are groovy, here's one of mine
Elfish Presley why he's so fine

Uh huh uh, uh I'm all shook up!

For the technirati, Elfish is a Driad, albeit a darn big one, he comes from a big tree and was the only Driad or hu-man bean, who never made it into Stonehenge some years back when the Druids of England were actually allowed to celebrate the summer solstice congregating inside the stones, maybe I'll put the full story up sometime, it's a doozy of a story! affraid lol! afro

(for the non-technirati a Driad is a tree spirit and as my last name on my official alien registration card from the US Government means tree in German, Elfish is sooooo appropriate!)

oh and if you care to http://fly.to/rainbow689 you can see some moving pictures of some more of my close buddies and confidants, prepare to be amazed! Enjoy!

My current one is a copy of a print called "The Guardian" by my favorite artist Bev Doolittle:

I also use a picture of me taken at my first book signing:

Sometimes I use a picture of me taken on my first HALO parachute jump:

I've also used the picture from my book jackets:

And once in awhile I throw in Beetle Baily:

What can I say, I get bored easily!
