| I'm agonizing over delays in getting print copies of my collection, GUNSHOT ECHOES. It was supposed to be released simultaneously in e-format and paper print. The e-book came out on time in February, and I finally have seen authors print copies last month but my promo batch is lost in Lightningsourceland.
The collection is structured around a short, 52K, novel, The Outlander. That story is set in South Africa, where an otherwise smart individual gets involved in murder for hire. Cover-up murders become necessary, including including a second one by handgun and another by tires. I'm an equal opportunity killer though-- an English woman, an Afrikaner man, and a Zulu man. It's the fiream killings that make this story comply with the gunshot themes as suggested by the collection title.
The centerpiece novel is flanked by five shorter stories, all of which follow the theme of murder and killing (not the same thing) by shooting. If anyone should ask, I served many years as Editor with two magazine houses, those magazines devoted to the shooting and hunting sports. And I published some four hundred firearms articles in many of the nationally distributed magazines that cover such interests, so I know guns.
Gunsot Echoes is published by Champagne Books, Calgary, and most definitely is not of the Romance genre that is the mainstay of the Champagne Books catalog. See the cover at my website.

| | Sorry about placement of this. I intended a new subject but failed, obviously. Jim |

| Strange. This is a problem I've never had. What, if anything, does the publisher say about it? _________________ Mystery Writers of America, Private Eye Writers of America www.dickstodghill.com |

| Thanks, Shelagh, for straightening out my screw-up.
Dick, apparently my check to the publisher for those additional copies, in a registered letter, return-receipt requested, was detained in the border-crossing postal system in some bureaucratic nonsense. |

| | Not to mention the Mounties. The book title in the body of the letter did mention guns, and in this climate anyone who owns one is suspect. Jim |

| The same thing happened to some of the bigwigs when they were working on that movie 'Dirty Dancing'.
They went to Canada for some reason and were held up at the border because they were carrying copies of the script and the border people were concerned they were involved in the filming of porn.
I am glad your check made it. _________________

| That was quite a delay, Jim. 4 months to make it from them to you? Sounds like nobody knew what they were doing! _________________ Zada Connaway Mother's Journals: parts 1, 2 and 3 ISBN # 1-4241-6969-0
