My first short story was published in Universe Pathways Magazine, a Greek Sci-fi magazine that publishes an English version twice a year on lulu.com. It would be possible to do the same with the authors here but no money would cross hands. A fund could be set up for any profits to be spent on further projects. The profits would be small and no free books for contributors!

Or am I not understanding what you mean?

You are correct in you understanding that you didn't understand. :-)

By "local" I mean people here, in this cyber-locale, members, etc, not a physical area.

What about a packet of four or five selected books of varied genre? They could be packaged in a hard box-like sheath with the bindings showing.

lin,
Embarassed Thank you for setting me straight. No wonder I was confused! I guess I never thought of cyberspace as a locale! My bad. Sorry for the confusion.

"I wonder if there might be sufficient interest to put together an anthology by Published Authors similar to Stories of Strength. I could publish it under Mandinam Press."

A group of the Amazon Shorts authors got together and produced an anthology called THE WORLD OUTSIDE THE WINDOW. There are 19 authors with some truly great stories, and we are now hoping to see it published this year.

It's a lot of work for whomever becomes the editor, but it is equally as rewarding once the book starts coming together.

If I could interest 50 authors to submit poems (no more than 24 lines) and stories (no more than 2,000 words) I would be willing to put together an anthology.

50 authors selling 10 copies each would produce 500 sales. If the people buying those books shared them with one other person, the stories would be read by 1,000 readers.

There are over 400 members of the network and 153 members of the forum. I'll set up a thread and see how many authors are interested.
